I just released an update that adds a config menu to toggle that, you can open it by clicking on your username in the top right, and then click "Userscript Settings". Let me know if that works for you!
I released another update that prevents comments from collapsing when you select text, see if that works!
Maybe a toggle on "click or tap anywhere on a comment to collapse it and its children" would be warranted? With current functionality I can't even select text since it auto-collapses.
