A simple auto-HD script, which does not re-format the page as YouTube Center does. Very fast.

Features:

  • Sets the resolution of all videos on YouTube to the highest resolution available.
  • Disables DASH playback
  • Disables autoplay on video pages.
  • Pauses videos on channel/user pages.
  • Pauses videos if a video is started on an inactive tab.

All of these features can be disabled with some console commands. Go to a YouTube page, open the console, and settings are stored in an HDOSettings object. It has properties:

  • HD
  • VideoAutoPlay
  • DASHPlayback
  • ChannelAutoPlay
  • PauseInvisible
  • HighestQuality

Change these as you like, and run SaveHDOSettings() in the console to save your settings. See screenshot for help

Quality levels

Set HighestQuality to a number between 1 and 8 accordingly:

  1. 144p
  2. 240p
  3. 360p
  4. 480p
  5. 720p
  6. 1080p
  7. 1440p
  8. 4K (2160p)
