Like it says on the title, i ran the script multiple times, each time i followed these steps:
a) Navigated to the Activity Log b) Refreshed the page c) Unselected "Dry run" and selected "Run" and "Autoscrollen" d) On the box for activities older than marked "1 day" e) Selected the "Delete Everything" option * I also made sure that my Facebook was set to English before i ran the script. ** Greasemonkey for Firefox, latest version of both
After that, the script started to run. Memory use crept on until it peaked at about 4gb(i have 16gb RAM available), then sometimes i received a prompt by Facebook stating that "This content is no longer available" asking me to click "ok". After i clicked it, the script continued to run.
During this time, i saw that the script was marking certain entries certain colors, hiding EVERYTHING from the timeline, but it only deleted certain entries. After scrolling back to about 2011 (i have Facebook since 2009 but only started heavily using it mid-2010), it seemed to seize up and stop. I waited for about half an hour but it seemed that it refused to scroll past may 2011, as if it couldn't scroll down further. At that point, i closed the page, deleted all history (cookies, etc.) from Firefox, restarted Firefox, and browsed my profile.
It seemed as if it had deleted SOME things, but not others, and it had hidden MOST things, but not all of them. I then ran the script again. After about 3 iterations, following the same routine, it finally managed to hide EVERYTHING from the timeline, but it still didn't delete everything it could have deleted. I could still go on my Activity Log and manually delete status updates, facebook shares, comments, and other things the script seemed to have missed.
I wonder if this is because Facebook has implemented some kind of countermeasure to prevent this kind of automated deletion of activity? Or did i do something wrong? Any kind of feedback is appreciated, thanks.
